Shared Expenses and Equal Money Split Calculator
Settle a group bill when people have already paid different amounts.
Calculate a tip on the bill and divide the final amount into reconciled cent shares. Check whether a service charge is already included before choosing an additional tip.
This calculator adds an optional percentage tip and divides the resulting bill into shares that reconcile to the cent. It is useful when everyone shares equally and the group wants to avoid a rounded per-person figure leaving a small shortfall.
Check that the bill includes all charges the group intends to share. Any existing service charge stays inside the entered base.
The calculator rounds the bill to cents, calculates the percentage tip on that rounded bill, and rounds the tip separately before adding it.
The total is divided using whole cents. Where equal division is impossible, some people pay one cent more than the standard share so the combined payments cover the exact total.
Sample inputs demonstrate the method. They are not a forecast or product offer.
With a €100 bill and a 10% tip, the added tip is €10 and the total is €110. Four people can each pay €27.50, so this example has no remainder cents to distribute.
Sample inputs demonstrate the method. They are not a forecast or product offer.
The total including tip is the amount the group should cover together. The tip amount is separate, which makes it easier to check whether an additional gratuity has been entered as intended.
Read the remainder note alongside the standard share. A displayed standard share alone may be a cent too low for some participants; the note tells you how many higher shares are required.
Add an optional tip to a bill and split the final amount fairly, with cent rounding that reconciles to the total.
Check whether a service charge is already included before adding a tip. No tip is compulsory in this calculator.
