Work Hours Calculator with Breaks
Add worked hours from shift records and unpaid breaks.
Calculate overtime pay and add any regular gross pay for the same period. Supply the multiplier from your agreement; the tool does not determine eligibility or net payroll deductions.
Overtime pay is calculated from eligible hours, a basic hourly rate and the total multiplier agreed for those hours. Regular gross pay can be added separately to show the combined gross amount for the same pay period.
Multiply the basic hourly amount by the agreed multiplier. The calculation does not select a statutory or sector-specific premium.
Multiply that resulting hourly amount by the overtime quantity. Fractional hours are allowed and should be entered as decimal hours.
Combine overtime with the separate regular gross amount. The overtime result stays visible so the total can be reconciled with its two components.
Sample inputs demonstrate the method. They are not a forecast or product offer.
The first example uses €20 per hour, eight overtime hours and a multiplier of 1.5. The overtime hourly rate is €30, and eight hours produce €240 gross overtime. Regular pay is zero, so total period pay is also €240.
Sample inputs demonstrate the method. They are not a forecast or product offer.
Gross overtime pay is the compensation for the supplied overtime hours before deductions. Total gross period pay includes the separately entered ordinary amount.
This arithmetic does not determine which hours qualify, whether compensatory leave applies, or how normal remuneration should be defined. Those are inputs to settle before using the calculation.
Estimate gross overtime pay from eligible overtime hours, your hourly rate and the premium in your agreement.
The premium is contractual; no universal Irish overtime multiplier is assumed. Net tax, eligibility and normal-remuneration rules are not determined here.
